7/18/11 Reports from the weekend were very good for walleye in Lake St. Clair. Anglers reported catching multiple limits out near the shipping channel in about 15 f.o.w. Crawler harnesses and bottom bouncers trolled at 1.2 to 1.6 MPH was the ticket. Colors did not seem to matter as much.

    Fish return to Chain-up Creek

    It didn’t take long for fish to find their way back to Chain-up Creek once the small concrete culvert was replaced with a new bridge.

    The brand new bridge has revived Chain-up creek and made the journey home to native habitat possible for spawning fish.

    Fish have already been spotted and photographed swimming in the creek a month after the bridge and creek reopened.

    Chinook salmon fishing for Rapid River hatchery fish is very good in the Lower Salmon and Little Salmon rivers. This past weekend saw record numbers of anglers and more than 100 fish harvested per day in and around Riggins, as river levels have dropped to ideal fishing flows on the Little Salmon River. Salmon are also beginning to arrive in the upper South Fork Salmon River.
